Hi-Rez Studios has announced another champion for their 3rd-person MOBA game Smite. This time, we see Sobek, the God of the Nile.

The god Sobek, which was depicted as a crocodile or a man with the head of a crocodile was a powerful and frightening deity; in some Egyptian creation myths, it was Sobek who first came out of the waters of chaos to create the world. As a creator god, he was occasionally linked with the sun god Ra.
To add some information that isn’t from Wikipedia is that Sobek, being the crocodile god, was closely tied to pharonic royalty as a symbol of might and prowess. Basically, he represents all the ass kicking that can be found in Ancient Egypt. Soon he will represent some ass kicking in Smite.
