Gearbox Teases Borderlands 3 Again

Borderlands 3

It seems Gearbox loves to hint and tease big time during PAX events. Back on PAX East last year, they confirmed that Borderlands 3 would be a reality sooner or later, filling us with boundless joy. During PAX West, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has gone deep into Teaseland and beyond. His message underneath? That most of the studio is currently working on the game.

The cheerful taunt happened during Gearbox’s conference. Pitchford addressed the audience, commenting on the fact that most of them were probably there expecting some sort of Borderlands announcement. After making a summary on the number and capacity of their studios, Pitchford confirmed that 90% of them are “working on the thing I think most of you guys want us to be working on.”

“A product does not exist until it’s announced,” he said immediately after, cutting any further intent to extract more info about the whole thing. However, the tease reassures us about the ongoing development of the mysterious new game and reignites our gaming flame.

On that note, Gearbox has never confirmed whether the new instalment will be called Borderlands 3. But as of now, the name resonates deep within the community and is here to stay. As for dates, there are none we know of. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick hinted back in August to a “highly-anticipated title from one of 2K’s biggest franchises” to be released between April 1st, 2018 and March 31st, 2019. It could be the new Borderlands but again, we will need to wait for official confirmation on this one.
