Targus Targets Sustainability and Innovation With Their Ecosmart Line of Products

Most people who have used a PC or had some sort of laptop bag have heard of Targus. They are a well-known name in the PC peripheral space and have been around since 1983. Targus has continued to innovate when it comes to laptop bags and things like PC docking stations. We saw a ton of what the company has coming down the pipeline in the coming months but one of the interesting things they are doing now is centered around sustainability.

During CES 2024, many companies have focused on the environment and sustainability. While many of the concepts and products were focused on the future, Targus is working on what they can do right now. It’s Ecosmart line of products is focused on keeping plastics out of waterways and landfills. One of the products we had a chance to take a look at was the Cypress Hero backpack which utilizes 26 plastic bottles in its construction. It fits up to a 15.6-inch laptop with plenty of space to spare for tablets and other tech gear.

The second product that we had a chance to test out was the ErgoFlip EcoSmart mouse. Similar to the backpack, the ErgoFlip is made up of up to 85 percent recycled materials. There are a ton of cool features that we will list below, but the best thing about this mouse is that it is both ergonomic and ambidextrous. You are able to remove the upper and lower parts of the mouse and ‘flip’ it between left and right handed use. The Ergoflip mouse feels amazing in the hand and uses BlueTrace technology for use on any surface.
