YouTube Red is an Ad-Free Monthly Subscription

YouTube Red, an all new ad-free subscription option, launches on October 28th and all users will have access to a one month free trial beginning on the same day.

In a blog post that was published last week, Senior Project Manager Mark Leske announced the newest change to the popular viewing platform. “On October 28, we’re giving fans exactly what they want. Introducing YouTube Red — a new membership designed to provide you with the ultimate YouTube experience.” He states that over the years, YouTube fans have spoken out about the changes they would like to see — they would like to support their favorite creators more and they want to view content without the interruption of ads. Hence, YouTube Red was born.

The $9.99/month subscription will not only include an ad-free YouTube but it will also allow members to download their favorite videos and view them offline. Leske also mentions in the blog post that starting next year, members of YouTube Red will have access to exclusive shows and creations from their favorite YouTubers. A list is provided of the YouTubers who are currently working on projects for YouTube Red but for the moment it is small and bursting with fun ideas and popular YouTube channels.

With almost 40 million subscribers under his belt, YouTube star Pewdiepie will have his own show where he puts himself into terrifying situations just so we can all laugh at his girly screams. From the creators of Red vs. Blue, Rooster Teeth will be creating their own show that includes an epic alien battle to save the Earth! Other YouTube personalities that are confirmed for YouTube Red are The Fine Brothers, MatPat from Game Theory, CollegeHumor, Tobuscus and more!

YouTube Red will begin October 28th and the membership cost will be $9.99/month. Also, new users can try it out for free for a month. As a member you will have access to videos offline and starting next year you will be able to view exclusive content. What are your thoughts on YouTube Red? Let us know in the comments below!
