Watch: New Dark Souls 3 Final DLC Trailer Signals the End

From Software has announced that Dark Souls might indeed be coming to an end, it has been a long, beautiful and terrifying experience; like the Age of Fire all good things must end. Bandai-Namco has released game-play teaser footage of Dark Souls 3’s second and final DLC: The Ringed City and just like every other iteration of Dark Souls it looks unforgiving.

Traversing into The Ringed City maybe the most exciting bit of DLC players have yet to witness from the developers at From Software. What it seems the player will be doing is moving down through the ruined city to discover the history of that elusive furtive pygmy mentioned so briefly but remaining in our minds so totally from the first Dark Souls. Since the quest moves solely to the depths of The Ringed City fall damage in this place is no longer a factor, in fact falling apparently has a lot to do with the DLC.

Dark Souls 3

We may come to the heart of The Ringed City and learn all there is to know about the Pygmy, the Hollowed and the Dark Signs. Of course – this being Dark Souls – that could absolutely not be the case and it’s all just a red herring to find out how Siegward’s doing, I don’t know.

What I can say is that DLC will offer a fair amount of challenge, frustration and exploration. What is seen in the new game-play footage today is The Ringed City will be an expansive territory with different climates, structures and enemies. In the short five minutes we witness a group of specters, a bigger group of specters, a jacked up Dark Wraith and an angel who is far from benevolent. It’s a recipe for success-ipe.

The Ringed City DLC is going to see release on March 28th on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. So get ready to stifle your frustration into a pillow and walk everywhere with your shield up!
