Ohmigawd ohmigawd ohmigawd! Tim Schafer of Double Fine studios is looking into another one of the best games ever!
All he needs is a publisher…
In an interview in the latest issue of PSM3, Schafer was asked about the possibility of a sequel to Psychonauts for PSN.
He replied by saying he was ready and willing, but that it was a question of finding a publisher that was interested.
“I’m ready to do it. I’d love to do it. It’s really a question of getting a publisher who’s interested in doing it.”
Psychonauts was so much fun. If you haven’t played it, go buy it (second page of sweet deals), it’s older so it’s on sale.
In the first game, you’re a kid at this super fun but wicked scary camp for the gifted. You kind of suck at using your mental abilities. But, as time goes on (and people start disappearing) you learn and grow and go inside people’s dreams to battle their demons.
I was amazed at how this game managed to marry fun, challenge, beauty, and everything that makes story telling and game play engaging, into one hilarious package. It changed my life.
You play as Razputin”Raz” Aquato, the son of a family of circus performers, who has a serious aversion to water. To be fair, it actively tries to kill him…
The first game, either because no one was on the lookout or because piracy made it too easy to not buy, didn’t do well. That’s a damn shame.
Help yourself by checking this game out, buying it if you like it, and thus encouraging the sequel to be picked up.
