The romance with the Undead continues. Telltale Games announces today a partnership that will bring very soon the post-apocalyptic world of 7 Days to Die to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
There seems to be no rest for the Telltale folks. Not only they have been launching titles recently (The Walking Dead: Michonne) and announced others for the near future (Batman), they also have embarked in their own publishing initiatives. Just today they have confirmed a partnership with independent developer The Fun Pimps that will bring 7 Days to Die to home consoles for the first time this June.
7 Days to Die: the Refinement of Survival Games
Since launching on Steam Early Access back in December 2013, 7 Days to Die has held proudly their place in the survival genre. They have sold already 1.5 million copies and they have been in constant development ever since.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic sandbox world overrun by the undead where crafting and marksmanship are equally important. This setting may sound rather familiar but do not let this turn you off. 7 Days to Die offers an interesting combination between RPG elements with FPS, all spiced up with some sparks of horror and tower defense systems – and it has been acclaimed worldwide by fans and critics. They also incorporate a third-person camera angle, mining, looting, building (you better be good at basic physics, mate…) and character growth through tiered perks and skills that you can enhance as you use them.
This console version will contain a new multiplayer mode, local split-screen and also a plethora of new features that have to be revealed yet. As it could not be otherwise, 7 Days to Die will have its own line-up of “exciting DLC content” that will also be announced soon. And if you are into skins and customization, pre-ordering the game will grant you five characters from the hit series The Walking Dead, including Lee Everett and the aforementioned Michonne.
