Beware of Zombies! The Walking Dead: Michonne Arrives Tomorrow

The Walking Dead: Michonne

The next miniseries of Telltale Games reveals the past of one of the most iconic characters of The Walking Dead, Michonne.

Fans of the TV show who happen to like as well the stories created by Telltale Games have good reasons to be hyped. The Californian studio has released a brand new trailer and confirmed that their next title is just around the corner. If you think you know everything about Michonne, you may want to think twice and play this game. Telltale explores here the personality of one of its most iconic figures and shows an interesting side to her that we have not seen before. We will dive into the mind of Michonne to discover what took her away from Rick, Carl, and the rest of the group… and what brought her back.

The Walking Dead: Michonne

In their latest trailer, they bring a full house of details that unveil more about the first episode of the miniseries, “In Too Deep”. And yes, it is as bloody, cruel and ravening as it can possibly get. In this original story, Michonne joins a crew of survivors on a sailing ship that cruises the coast looking for other people and supplies. After a help signal brings them to a massacre scene, Michonne and the crew will discover the floating colony of Monroe, an uneasy place that may just be hosting the perpetrator of the carnage.

If you have been following the TV show or the original comics from Robert Kirkman, you already know that hidden colonies tend to harbor dirty secrets, and that first appearances are rather deceptive and that everything that can go wrong will possibly go wrong. We can expect some of that and more in this episodic game.

Telltale has always replicated quite well the atmosphere of the original comics in their previous titles. It seems that The Walking Dead: Michonne is not going to be an exception. It will certainly be interesting to witness the evolution of this character as she discovers that staying alive in the world of the undead requires much more than a sharp blade.

Telltale promises a compelling narrative, interactivity, zombies and high doses of action.  They also expect 2016 to be the biggest year for The Walking Dead they ever had (via Telltale Games blog).

When and How is The Walking Dead: Michonne coming out?

The game is coming already on February 23 on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation  3 and PlayStation 4. The mobile version for phones and tablets will appear two days later.

If you are unfamiliar with Telltale’s releasing cycle, you may want to know that The Walking Dead: Michonne does not come all at once but in different episodes (consider this as you survive the main events, waiting for more). The second chapter, “Give No Shelter”, will arrive in March, and April will see the culmination of this story with “What We Deserve”. All three episodes in the miniseries will be available for purchase at the cost of $14.99 or equivalent when the first episode debuts, including access to the second and third episodes as they become available.
