Gaikai, a cloud gaming service and Samsung, electronics extraordinaire, have joined to bring purchasers of Samsung TVs a client for gaming through the Gaikai cloud that can play games in the same manner and just as well as tablets can. The goal here is to offer the ability for Samsung televisions to be comparable to today’s better personal computers. This new direction involves Samsung TV models, 2012 and newer.
Competition, meanwhile, looms on the horizon, as LG offers similar services, working with both Gaikai and OnLive, a competing cloud gaming company. Samsung, though, will likely offer connection to both gaming providers in the future.
