Rumor: Rocksteady Ready to Reveal New Batman?

Although it’s only been a few months since not one, but two Batman games were released, they weren’t from the studio that laid the groundwork. Has the time come for Rocksteady’s Batman to return? It’s been over two years since the release of Batman: Arkham City, 2011’s ambitious open world take on the dark knight detective. A recent tweet from journalist Jan Meijroos, since deleted, points to the possibility that Rocksteady has already shown off the game to select members of the press.

IGN has also reported that promotional materials at retailer GameStop point to Rocksteady‘s new project being their follow-up to Arkham City. The promotional materials feature the Batman: Arkham logo bordered by flames, calling to mind predictions made in the previous game. Just as in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City features numerous hints as to what the next chapter will hold. We won’t spoil them here, for those who have yet to play the games.

What do you think? Are you excited for a new chapter from Rocksteady? Is it too soon to announce a new game almost immediately after WB Montreal’s Arkham Origins and Armature’s Arkham Origins: Blackgate? Let us know below.
