In a genre dominated by so many big name games, it’s easy to sometimes miss the latest news concerning Hi Rez studio’s MOBA: SMITE. Not today though. Today Poseidon was revealed as the latest god to join the ranks of SMITE’s pantheon. With his brothers, Zeus and Hades, already established characters, Followers of the game must have known that Poseidon’s introduction was only a matter of time.
Poseidon is introduced as a mage champion, using abilities and magic damage to put down the enemy team. The video that Hi Rez released goes over all of his new abilities, shows them in action, and even has tips for what abilities to rank up first, as well as what equipment to buy when playing their newest god.

It stands nearly alone as a MOBA that is presented in 3rd person, over the shoulder camera, mode, as opposed to the standard isometric point-and-click that you see so often. For fans of the more mainstream titles, SMITE might prove to be a breath of fresh air.
