You’ll have to forgive my lack of enthusiasm for Man of Steel, the Christopher Nolan produced Superman reboot. I mean, the recent track record for Krypton’s last son hasn’t been the greatest.
But two minutes and thirty-three seconds has changed that. I guess if we need to put our faith in our director, why not the man who produced an enjoyable adaptation of Watchmen?
The first official trailer for Man of Steel was released today by Warner Bros. Well, technically it’s the second, but the first was just a teaser. This is the real deal, showing off the childhood of Clark Kent and giving glimpses of what he’ll face as Superman.
The film stars Henry Cavil as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Michael Shannon as General Zod. If Lex Luthor is in the film, it’ll probably be a mentioning, ala The Joker in Batman Begins. Christopher Meloni will also have a part in the movie, meaning we can fill the void we’ve been missing since Stabler left SVU. Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishbourne, Diane Lane, and Russell Crowe round out the cast.
But enough jibber jabber. Here’s the trailer. The movie is set for a June 14th, 2013 release.
