Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns — Fabulous Farming Fun

Before Farmville, Farm Frenzy and any other farming game… there was Harvest Moon. There are many titles that have been developed for almost every gaming system since it’s release for the Super Nintendo in 1996. The object of Harvest Moon was to keep up a farm throughout the game, tend to livestock and crops, live through the different seasons and events that occur, and befriend the townsfolk. In some of the games you get the chance to make one of the townspeople fall in love with you and get married. If this occurs you can raise a child in the game as well as take care of your farm. Early titles of Harvest Moon you played a male character until creators decided that it was such a huge hit with both sexes that a female main character and male bachelors were added.

Farming Fun!

The latest Harvest Moon title published by Natsume comes out September 20, 2011. Its called Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns and is one of the first games in the Harvest Moon series that the player gets to choose what town they get to start and live in. “Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns is one of the most unique Harvest Moon titles we’ve ever released!” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume. “For the first time, players will get to choose what town they want to live in! There are also other great new features, such as the ability to raise adorable Alpacas!”

For those who pre-order the game receive a stuffed “Alpaca”. Let me say it is pretty darn cute.  So for all those farming fans who are addicted to Farmville, maybe it’s time to get off Facebook and play your Nintendo DS? The farming experience you have in Harvest Moon will be like no other.  Stay tuned to The Game Fanatics for more news and updates about this title.
