Gamers Outreach and The Game Fanatics Team Up for Charity!

This past Memorial Day, we as a nation took time to honor all the troops, past and present, for everything they do for our country. What better way to honor them on Memorial Day, than to hold a 24 hour Game-A-Thon in their honor. Well, this is exactly what The Game Fanatics, in partnership with Gamers Outreach, a charity organization that supplies video game equipment to deployed and wounded soldiers, and FraggedNation.com decided to do.

On May 29th and May 30th, The Game Fanatics, along with Gamers Outreach, and FraggedNation.com joined forces to put on a 24 hour charity event to help support their cause, Fun for the Troops. Fun for the Troops sends video games to our troops stationed overseas. The goal is to provide stress relief, relaxation and boost morale and well being of the U.S. troops stationed far from home. Fun for our Troops serves all of our branches of the U.S. Military.

During this 24 hour event, The Game Fanatics played a variety of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games, along with other members of the gaming community. We also had some amazing giveaways from some amazing sponsors. Thanks to them we were able to award some of the event’s loyal viewers from the gaming community who stayed to support the whole event great prizes. One of the hottest items that went up as a donation prize came from SpiritHoods. Our amazing Bang Bang Sami had the ability to promote the event locally for her, and is a huge Spirithood promoter. Oddly enough, most of the SpiritHoods winners came locally to her! These were such a huge hit for the donations. These things are becoming quite popular!

With the help of the rockin’ gaming community, the entire event was able to raise $750.08 for this amazing charity. This was one of many events that are in the works. The Game Fanatics wants to send out a huge “Thank You” to everyone who came in and donated to this cause. Every penny went straight to Gamers Outreach to help with the Fun For Our Troops charity. You can still donate to Gamers Outreach through their page, www.gamersoutreach.org . A special “Thank You” to our sponsors of this event also, Spirithoods, Astros, SteelSeries, Evil Controllers, Sega, and BeyondGaming.com, Cooler Master! Another very special “Thank You” to Hauppauge for the HD PVR’s!  See you all at the next event!!
