For Honor unveils their newest style warrior to enter the arena, the Oni.
Ubisoft continues to slowly pull back the curtain on the three factions to be found within their upcoming army-on-army battle game. Their latest trailer showcases one faction of the Samurai – also called the Chosen – called the Oni, who do not believe in standing in one place for very long. Seeming to be the quickest of the three warring factions, Oni have the ability to spring into an attack from a dodge, call in an arrow storm, poison their blade or throw sharpened kunai into their enemy’s vulnerable spots.
The other two kinds of warriors coming in For Honor are the Knights (or the Legions) and Vikings – Warborn. These two have thicker, heavier armor than the Oni, making their stealthy attacks all the more effective when compared to a full-frontal assault. The Knights and Vikings have yet to receive much distinction beyond that, but that is surely on the way.
Check out the latest trailer showcasing For Honor and the Oni above. The game itself won’t be around until sometime in 2016, after a beta, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

[toggle title=”Press Release”]Originally unveiled at Sony’s press conference during the 2015 Tokyo Game Show, meet the Oni: the first unveiled Hero in the Samurai faction, who are also known as “The Chosen.” The Oni is a swift and lethal duelist who slays his enemies with quickness and mastery. Donning leather and wood armor and wielding a razor-sharp Japanese katana, the Oni strikes fear into his opponents and dominates the battlefield with special abilities such as poisoning his blade, throwing kunai, and unleashing an Arrow Storm. The Oni is a truly powerful and formidable warrior. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, For Honor drops gamers into the chaos of a raging battlefield during an ongoing war between three Great Factions: the bold Knights (the Legions), the brutal Vikings (the Warborn) and the enigmatic Samurai (the Chosen). For every battle, players can choose which warrior they want to embody amongst the unique Heroes from this pantheon and use their distinct skills and weapons to fight for land, people and honor, decimating all soldiers, archers and opposing Heroes who stand in their way. For Honor includes both a thrilling multiplayer and an engaging, single-player campaign, letting players conquer their foes alone or with friends. Tense gameplay mixes the skill and ruthlessness of a shooter with the quick, heat of the battle decision-making of team-based tactical games. The Art of Battle, For Honor’s innovative control scheme, gives players total command of their weapons by creating a direct connection between the input on the controller and the moves performed on screen. Players choose precisely where to block, where to attack and how to adapt their approach to each battle in real time.[/toggle]
