August’s Free Games For PlayStation Plus And Games With Gold

Witches, Wells and War Are Best Free Games in August.

August 2017 is set to see the release of a large number of games, however, those mostly take place in the later half. This means that if you’re a member of Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus, you have time to enjoy the free games.

Xbox’s Lineup

On the Microsoft side of things we see Bayonetta and Trials Fusion lead the way for Microsoft’s promotion. Games that were available for Xbox 360 that are part of the program are available for Xbox One as well. All games require you to have an Xbox Live GOLD membership.

Bayonetta – X360, X1 – August 1-15

Slime Rancher – X1 – August 1-31

Red Faction: Armageddon – X360, X1 – August 16-31

Trials Fusion – X1 – August 16-Sep 15

While Xbox’s lineup features critically-acclaimed titles, the free games are only spread across two different consoles. This means that PlayStation’s lineup is given lots of room to shine, as it covers the PS3, PS4 and PlayStation Vita.

PlayStation Plus

PlayStation’s Lineup

Sony has definitely gone the distance for their PLUS users this month with some incredible games being included for the low, low price of free. Just Cause 3 is the newest game on the line up, with other titles ranging from triple-A spin-offs, to indie hits, such as Super Motherload, which was nominated for PlayStation Blog’s Digital game of the year in 2013. Unlike Xbox’s format, none of PlayStation’s games run into different months, so all games are available until the end of August.

Just Cause 3 – PS4

Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry – PS4

Super Motherload – PS3

Snakeball – PS3

Downwell – PS Vita (When you “purchase” it includes a PS4 copy)

Level 22 – PS Vita

Both Xbox and PlayStation have great lineups this month. Personally, I will be playing Bayonetta, Just Cause 3 and Downwell. What games are you looking into playing? Let us know in the comments below, or on our Twitter.
