New Viking Themed RPG Announced At Gamescom

During Gamescom, Independent game developer Encurio and indie games partner Reverb Triple XP announced a new Viking Themed RPG for PC: Valnir Rok. The newly announced role-playing game will be available via Steam’s Early Access sometime next month.

Valnir Rok is an online sandbox survival RPG title inspired by Norse mythology where players awaken on Valnir Island as a Viking warrior and must survive against men and nature as both will not appreciate intruders on their land. The game will also feature a Sim-like feature where they’ll be able to build new and fix current village structures.

Valnir Rok is set on a mystical Nordic island where players will go head-to-head with legendary beasts throughout vast hostile environments. Players will also be able to join clans or, if you’re more of a lone wolf, plow through any clan in sight. While the latter sounds more tempting, the former will help players increase their power and have a more intimidating reputation.

Here’s what Sebastian Rahmel, Game Director at Encurio, had to say about this new project:

“It’s the dream of every passionate gamer to make games and we take our first big step in making the dream into reality with the announcement of Valnir Rok. We love Vikings and survival games so it was natural for us to pursue our vision of a Viking survival roleplaying game. Our development team is very passionate about the project and we’re all looking forward to debuting the game at gamescom 2017.”

Those lucky enough to attend Gamescom in Germany will be able to try out this new title for the first time.
