PSN to Return With Cross-Game and In-Game Video Chat?

What would it take for Sony to appease the millions of faithful PSN subscribers they’ve successfully pissed of? Well for one, now will be a good time to bring in the features that we were promised.

According to a “Playstation Employee” (you can never be sure on the interwebs these days), SCE is working on a few features that will be added to the Playstation Network in an update, pending the return of our ability to access it.

“As we are rebuilding the network, we are taking into consideration in implementing features such as cross game chat and in-game video chat to name a few,” they wrote on the site in response to user queries about the PSN down time.

“I cannot confirm any new features at this time but expect a massive update when the network is restored.”

No doubt Sony will be struggling to save face from what is being dubbed as PSNGate; the worst PR disaster in the industry. Take all of this with a pinch of salt, however it’ll be surprising if the PSN returns with no incentives as to why we should keep using an already crippled network.
