E3 2012 | Top Five OMG Moments of E3

E3 is over and done with but the memories and impressions still remain. There have been those OMG moments and some not so stellar. Those lesser memories we can leave in the dust as we go through what made us go, “OMG” and screaming down the street like a little fangirl and fanboy.

5. Final Fantasy Tech Demo: LUMINOUS STUDIO and SquareEnix showed off what they both can do for not only the next generation of video games, but also for smartphones, PC and the Internet. The visuals are stunning and we can only hope for a killer game that uses this engine in the future.

4. Assassin’s Creed III: Connor is the newest hero in the Assassin’s Creed franchise and he means business. Both visuals and gameplay of Assassin’s Creed III are indeed sexy and impressive. Connor will not only be hunting Templars but also for food and he walks the land.

3. Beyond: Two Souls: Quantic Dream are at it again. This time with Beyond: Two Souls. This game will take a character’s emotion to a whole new level and will be yet another game to offer an intriguing story. Ellen Page plays Jodie Holmes who has always had a connection to “the other side”. Sony and Quantic Dream are pushing the limits of what the Ps3 can do, which shows promise for the future. Seeing this trailer makes me want a remake of Indigo Prophecy even more so than before.

2. Halo 4: A lot has changed since the original Halo and 343 is bringing more change and what we love about Halo, into Halo 4. In the E3 video, it mixes the real with the computer generated, which feels a bit like watching an episode of Battlestar Galactica.

And now its time for a Reggie! break. There is no E3 without the wonderful expressions of Mister Reggie Fils-aime. The Nintendo portion of E3 was met with mixed reviews, but we all can agree, that Reggie can always make us smile. From letting us know that he is ready, to his facial expressions with ZombieU.

1. The Last of Us: Naughty Dog ended the Sony press conference with The Last of Us, a post-apocalyptic third person shooter, that is set to be one of the most anticipated games of 2013. The player takes control of Joel while Ellie assists as they make their way though Pittsburgh…The Last of Us is turning out to be one brutal game.
