Yakuza 0 Slated For Early 2017 Launch on PlayStation 4

Confirmation regarding the prequel to the Yakuza series has just arrived from SEGA earlier this week. Yakuza 0 is coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 console early 2017.

This prequel is set to explore the lives of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima well before they became known as ‘The Dragon’ and ‘Mad Dog’ within their respected families. Both men began low on the totem pole and through Yakuza 0, players will see the two rise as they deal with the hardships of being Yakuza foot soldiers.

But Where Can We Play It

SEGA had initially announced the prequel during PlayStation Experience last December, though many people wondered about how the game would release and to where it would be released. Yesterday, SEGA aimed to clear all worries regarding this topic by announcing that Yakuza 0 will launch in the states as well as Europe!

MAJIMA BATTLE

SEGA is currently looking to release the game simultaneously between NA and EU but nothing has been set in stone yet. This is evident by the “Early 2017” release date statement. Both regions will also receive both digital and physical copies of the game, allowing people to choose their preferred option.

It’s worth noting that while Yakuza 0 launched on both the PS3 and PS4 in Japan, only the PS4 version will be launching in the both territories simultaneously.

As a bonus, the most recently released title, Yakuza 5, is now 25% off from now until April 5th. Yakuza 5 is exclusive to the PS3 console, so it may be time for some folks to hook the console back up.
