Xbox Live's 'Games with Gold' Titles Announced for December

The two December titles for Xbox Live’s ‘Games with Gold‘ program will be Gears of War and Shoot Many Robots. Games with Gold is a promotional offer from Microsoft that includes two free downloadable games every month. The deal, which began back in July, is only available to those with Xbox Live Gold memberships. Each Games with Gold title is released respectively on the 1st and 16th of each month.

Gears of War, developed by Epic Games and released back in 2006, is currently a $19.99 value through the Xbox Marketplace. It will be available for Xbox Live Gold members for free from December 1-15.

Shoot Many Robots is an action-platforming game from Demiurge Studios, who worked on Rock Band, BioShock, and Mass Effect. It is the studio’s first original title. Digital copies of Shoot Many Robots are going for $9.99 right now on the Xbox Marketplace, but will be free for Xbox Live Gold members from December 16-31.

Games with Gold was originally planned to be a temporary promotion, but has since been extended indefinitely for the Xbox 360. Xbox Live Gold subscribers will receive similar benefits for the Xbox One starting sometime next year. Previous Games with Gold titles have included Halo 3, Assassin’s Creed 2, and Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes.
