I overheard on Twitter, that Viacom plans to sell Harmonix, the people behind Rock Band. Udates are being posted as they come in over at RockBandAide.
“Our decision to exit this business strategy is to focus on what we do best, and that’s creating world class entertainment. The console games business requires expertise we don’t have. For us, this is all about focus.” – Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman
It seems that since Viacom saw losses during their third quarter, and now they are planning to drop Harmonix and get themselves out of the video game scene.
There’s still seems to be a lot of questions surrounding the selling of Harmonix and the news is slowly coming in on this matter.
Personally, I doubt this will hurt Rock Band 3 sells but what about future Rock Band titles?
