During this year long, agonizing wait for Uncharted 3, any news is good news and yesterday Naughty Dog (along with IGN) decided to give all Uncharted fans the inside scoop on the Drake’s Deception Multiplayer Beta (coming out in less than a month)! As we all know, Naughty Dog has promised us a new and improved Uncharted experience, but what exactly can we expect from them this time? If you thought things couldn’t get any better than Uncharted 2, be prepared to brace yourselves because things are going to get a little out of control.
Mark your calendars gamers, because on June 28th, we become Naughty Dogs lab rats. The Uncharted 3 beta is sure to bring us a taste of what’s in store for the future of Nathan Drake and his adventurous endeavors; power plays, new game modes, customizable options, these are just a few of the upgrades we’ve heard about, and I don’t think we could be anymore excited to test them out!
When I say power plays, I’m talkin’ packing heat and putting up a fight. Power plays are timed events that are rewarded to the losing team, offering them a chance at the crown. As listed on IGN, the power plays are as follows:
- Marked Man – A person on the winning team is marked, and the losing team gets 3 points if they kill him. Meanwhile, the winning team gets double cash for each kill and a special medal if the Marked Man doesn’t die.
- Cursed – The winning team sees all characters as skeletons and friendly fire is turned on. Each time the losing team gets a kill or the winning team kills one of its own, the losing team gets two points. Meanwhile, the winning team gets double cash for each member of the losing team killed.
- Exposed – The winning team’s location is revealed to the losing team. The winning team gets double cash for each losing team member killed.
- Double Damage – Losing team inflicts double damage. Winning team earns double cash for each kill.
The two maps allotted for the beta are “The Airfield” and “The Burning Chateau.” I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait to see what interactive features Naughty Dog has thrown in the mix; (You can find video fly-through’s of the maps via IGN, by clicking here)! Along with the maps and Power Plays, we will be introduced to brand new boosters, and new game modes such as Free For All, “High Stakes” and 3-Team Deathmatch. We will be given the options to customize our characters and weapons, and we’ll be able to test out our trusty Medal kickbacks!
The beta runs until July 13th and the maximum level players can reach is 25, so be sure to take full advantage of everything Uncharted 3 has to offer! For screenshots and updates, be sure to check out fuckyeahuncharted, and keep in touch with us for more details about Drake’s Deception!
