The hugely popular life simulator dubbed, The Sims, has officially been announced for a 2014 release date by Electronic Arts. The Sims 4 will be releasing for both PC and Mac this upcoming year with no solid release date as of yet.
The Sims 4 will be created by longtime Sims developer, Maxis while staying at home with publisher EA. In a conference call, Maxis stated that The Sims 4 will be returning to the roots that originally made The Sims such a great franchise. They also said that they’re looking into adding a bit more complexity to the way that sims interact and converse with one another one-to-one, adding on that it is very important for them to do so.
It also seems that Maxis may have learned a thing or two from the largely criticized always online “feature” in the most recently released SimCity. Fans of the franchise didn’t shy away from letting it be known that it was a feature that they didn’t like, and it looks like Maxis agrees this time around. Although some online features may be included, it has been confirmed that a consistent internet connection will not be required to play The Sims 4 on a PC or Mac.
