Sony PlayStation 4 May Be Closer Than We Expect

There’s an eerie calm surrounding the gaming industry as we head into the next generation of home consoles. So much so, that Sony Home Entertainment vice president Hiroshi Sakamoto in an interview conducted by Chile news site El Mercurio On-Line, had this to say.

“Its still a big secret, but our Sony PlayStation friends are getting ready. I only can say that we’re focused on the games related to the E3 event, booked for June. The announcement can take place there or even before, in May”

The gaming world is on pins and needles in my opinion regarding anything related to the next generation of consoles, and whether or not Sony importantly will be able to deliver on the gaming promises that they failed to deliver this generation.

Anything less than a new hardware announcement could be perceived as giving up in my mind, and failing to understand their fan base.

Sakamoto goes on to say;

“We plan to release big news for this date, but we have to wait at least until May.”

So, there you have it. This E3 Sony has some big things planned but just like in previous years, those big things fell short of making consumers happy. Hopefully this time around they get it right and we’re not treated with another AT&T fiasco like last years E3.
