This is the 25th anniversary for the Final Fantasy series, and that means big savings for Sony fans. Sony announced that select Final Fantasy titles are on sale for 50% off in the PlayStation Store for the next two weeks, starting when the store updates today. A full list of the games, playable on the PlayStation 3, PSP, and PS Vita, follows:
- DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
- DISSIDIA DUODECIM PROLOGUS FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
- DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
- FINAL FANTASY Tactics: War of Lions (PSP)
- Final Fantasy (PSOne Classics)
- Final Fantasy II (PSOne Classics)
- FINAL FANTASY IV: Complete Collection (PSP)
- Final Fantasy V (PSOne Classics)
- Final Fantasy VI (PSOne Classics)
- Final Fantasy VII (PSOne Classics)
- Final Fantasy VIII (PSOne Classics)
- Final Fantasy IX (PSOne Classics)
Noteworthy in their absence are Final Fantasy III, which has only been on the PSN since September, and Final Fantasy X, which has an HD re-release for the PS3 and PSV that’s supposedly been in development since before it was announced early last year. There are rumors that FFX HD will be released this year to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary, and Sony’s promising that we’ll get more information on the title “soon.”
Hopefully it’s worth the wait.
