Skullcandy and EA have recently teamed up to create Limited Edition Army of Two inspired gaming headsets off of their new SLYR headset line.Army of Two: The Devils Cartel‘s release date is just around the corner for early next year (March 26, 2013), and Skullcandy has released a new line of gaming headsets just in time before the release of the third installment to the Army of Two franchise. Each headset will allow players to unlock Skullcandy-branded outfits for their in-game characters.
The SLYR headsets listed on the Skullcandy website come in one of three colors, black, blue, and white. And they actually don’t look too shabby, especially for being priced at $79.99. The Army of Two inspired designs will be releasing at a later date. The only question that remains is, are they any good?
We firmly believe our new line of Skullcandy gaming headsets elevates the entire gaming experience, making every enemy that much easier to find, every objective that much smoother to achieve and every campaign that much more satisfying to complete. They are perfect for online games, especially a co-op game like Army of TWO The Devil’s Cartel, where teamwork isn’t just a suggestion, but a requirement for success. We’re thrilled to be working with EA to support the next installment in that franchise.
Stated Nate Morley, VP Marketing and Creative, Skullcandy.
The headsets seem to do pretty much everything you would expect from a gaming headset. They’re cross-compatable with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, WiiU and PC as well as most smartphones, tablets and MP3 players. Features include a stashable boom mic, the GMX in-line mixer with volume and game-to-voice balancing controls, and custom audio profiles for games, movies and music. The headsets also deliver Dolby 7.1 surround sound.
Skullcandy will also launch a road tour in celebration of the third installment to the Army of Two franchise, The Devils Cartel. There will be an Xbox 360 station allowing players access to the game before it releases next year on March 26th. More details about the road tour are still to come.
