Scuf Gaming has signed a licensing agreement with Microsoft to become their exclusive third party hardware developer.
The popular competitive controller provider has signed an exclusive licensing deal with Microsoft so that they will become of their primary third party hardware developers. This means that Microsoft will be getting special controllers among other devices (mostly for Xbox) and will once again delve into the territory of eSports.
Scuf Gaming is a relatively small hardware developer that specializes in console gaming as opposed to other tech giants like Razer and Logitech who specialize mostly in PC Gaming. They particularly like to make elite controllers with a lot of customizable settings that are great for any aspiring pro-gamers. The prices are quite hefty, obviously, but often times it is worth the specs on the controllers.
This will be another part of Microsoft’s move into the eSport market. One of the first was obviously to add Smite to Xbox One and now, with the addition of Scuf Gaming, they will also be able to add specialized controllers with the precision that pro-gamers seek. This might be the start of the new movement of console eSports or perhaps the downfall of Microsoft as they attempt to venture into a non-existant market. Only time will tell.
