Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Gets a Host of New Details Including Release Dates and Extra Content

Capcom has officially announced that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be arriving on all platforms this February.

What’s even more exciting is that fan-favorite S.T.A.R.S. member, Barry Burton, will be a playable character alongside lead protagonist, Claire Redfield.

Barry’s mission is vital in Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Paired up with Natalia Korda, a young mutant-like girl, players will see Barry headed for a desolate prison island in search of his daughter, Moira Burton. Korda’s powers include heightened enemy awareness and the ability to scout hidden items, which will both prove to be extremely useful as the duo fight to survive the horrors on the island. Such horrors include two brand new enemy variants: The Rotten and The Revenant. The former are hideous creatures whose bones protrude from their skin while the latter are an even more horrific sight of eyes; humanoid creatures whose bodies are formed from sewn body parts.

Each episode in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is scheduled to include bonus Raid Mode content, as well as two fully playable scenarios: one campaign focusing on Claire and Moira, and another centered around  theBarry and Natalia storyline.

As mentioned, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will release as weekly digital episodes that will be pegged at  $5.99/£4.99/€5.99 each on the following dates next year:

Resident Evil Timeline Dates

If you desire to scratch that impatient itch and grab the bundled version of the episodes, you can purchase the Complete Season for $24.99/£19.99/€24.99. This bundle will grant access to all four episodes once they release, as well as two additional spin-off episodes. These episodes will follow smaller side stories for Moira Burton and Natalia Korda. What’s more, the Complete Season will even throw in Hunk as an additional Raid Mode character.

If episodic content isn’t your cup of tea, you can opt to wait until the retail version of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 launches on March 10th in North America and March 13th in Europe. Like the Complete Season, the retail version of the game will include the two spin-off episodes and Hunk as a playable character in Raid Mode. As a bonus, you’ll also get access to Albert Wesker as a playable character in Raid Mode, an alternative costume for each character in the game and the “Throwback Stage Pack” which includes four Raid Mode stages from recent Resident Evil games.

Keep in mind that all the additional content included with the Complete Season and retail version of the game can be purchases individually through each platform’s respective online marketplace.

To keep your appetites whet, we’ve thrown some brutally awesome images below. Enjoy!
