Razer Takes Gaming Peripherals into the Cloud

Razer, the maker of many fine gaming peripherals, today announced the Razer Synapse 2.0 application for storing all of your peripheral settings in the cloud.

Now this might seem a little bit excessive but, if you move your devices around a lot, it makes sense. Who wants to spend time reprogramming buttons or recreating macros? No one.

In 2006 Razer started Synapse which allowed these same settings to be stored onto the device itself and now Razer is taking that to the next level.

Razer Synapse 2.0 also automatically downloads drivers, game add-ons, and firmware updates so you don’t have to worry about it. Even better is that all the next generation Razer devices will be compatible with the software.

The next phase of the beta is going to be for select Razer Naga users to try out the service. You can sign up for the beta over here but right now it appears to just be a temporary page.

There is no word yet of an official launch date.
