PSX 2016: The Last of Us Part II Announced (Trailer)

Sony’s not done yet with making dreams come true for fans. The Last of Us 2 aptly named, The Last of Us Part II, was announced earlier this morning at Sony’s PSX 2016. It was an incredible surprise seeing as Naughty Dog had just released Uncharted 4 about 6-7 months ago.

In the trailer we see what looks like an older Ellie playing on a guitar. It didn’t sound like any particular song from the previous game so we could only assume we just got a sneak peek at the new soundtrack as well. Ellie is then approached by another major surprise when Joel walks into the room. They don’t seem to be terribly at odds with each other from the brief exchange so it will be interesting to see what kind of dynamic these two have now and if whether or not Joel told her the truth about the fireflies.

Shawn Layden announced the game at the very end of the keynote but did say that it was really early in development so i doubt we’ll see more of this game anytime soon. Maybe E3 2017? In the meantime, it’s time to celebrate, The Last of Us Part II is real and it’s coming to PS4.
