Emails were recently sent out to all Playstation Rewards beta members from Sony. In this email , Sony stated
“We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the PlayStation®Rewards Beta, which is ending on March 31st. Your feedback helped us understand the kinds of things that make you feel appreciated and valued.
Based on what we learned, we have decided the program is not ready to roll out to the public in April as originally planned. But rest assured, we will continue to thank loyal and devoted customers like you with innovative offerings”.
From this passage we can conclude that the beta wasn’t as successful as Sony expected.. or was it? lets sit back and look at the big picture of how Playstation Rewards works. The beta members our rewarded upon different tasks completed, from downloading demos to reviewing games on Playstation.com. there our three classes of being members in the Playstation Rewards program ( Select, Pro, & Legendary). with each level you advance you gain prizes ( PSN avatars, PS3 themes, etc.) and you also unlock more quest to finish.
Everything is really organized and set up so whats the big issue? Im not going to say the beta was perfect because for a while I didn’t know how to check my points, rewards, and quests so that might be a reason why a lot of people may think the beta is bad. What I will say is that I think the rewards program is more richer then the xbox live rewards program. With the Playstation Rewards program, you complete quest which involves no money most of the time.On the other hand, Xbox Live’s reward program allows you to answer questions but most of the time you have to renew your membership or add more months to get points, and for a person that has a whole year membership that factor pushed me away from their program.
Sony’s release for the program was scheduled for April of next month. The question is when will it release now and what changes can we expect when the program does release? Only time will tell.
