In the wee hours of the morning, Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 price drop is official; the console will see a price reduction here in the states and in Canada on October 9th. Just in time for the holidays.
The new price for the PlayStation 4 will be $349.99 USD and $429.99 CAD. John Koller, VP of Platform Marketing at SCEA, gave this reason for the price drop, “Our goal at PlayStation has always been to provide the best gameplay experiences at the best value, and we feel this new compelling price will open the doors to even more gamers that have yet to purchase a system.”
If you’re eyeing one of the playing PlayStation 4 bundles then you’re also in luck because in addition to the base model PlayStation 4, the current bundles will be receiving a price drop. All will be receiving a $50 price drop with the exception of the Limited Edition Call of Duty: Black Ops III 1TB bundle and the NHL 16 PS4 bundle…both of these see only a $20 price drop.
