As a PC gamer, have you ever yearned to be freed from the shackles of your desktop, to be able to venture out into the world without the heavy weight of a 15 lb. laptop on your back?

PGS Labs is looking to cater just to that desire with its portable gaming system (PGS! Clever girl…), which runs the PC version of Windows 10 allowing for on the go play of your favorite PC games.

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the company has opened up pre-orders on their site for the portable gaming device. The device is reminiscent of a typical smartphone on the main screen while the lower half is almost Nintendo DS-like. The company says that the PGS supports a majority of modern PC games due to the combination of the Windows 10 OS and an Intel Atom X7 z8750 chipset. Additionally, the device is also a smartphone as it’s equipped with a dualboot system into Android 6. When in Android mode the user will have all the same features of a smartphone OS.

The console comes loaded with relatively impressive specs for such a small device; 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD, along with an 8MP and 5MP rear and front cameras with support for USB 3.0, microHDMI, and expanded storage. The company claims that the battery can be charged 25% in only ten minutes, which is vital when engaging marathon PC games.

Personally, it’s a neat little device, however, I think that playing any PC game in 1080p on that processor will be a challenge. I would love to see how it works if you really crank up a game and if it holds up to the demand. Outside of that, I think it’s the perfect excuse to shut down the desktop and take a nice long walk; I mean, I can also finish that level from the park right?

The PGS can be pre-ordered for $319 for the Hardcore, or $259 for the Lite version. It’s set to release in the second quarter of 2017.
