Nyko Enters the Wii U Controller Game

On November 30th, Nyko announces it’s creation of five peripherals aimed at battery/charging solutions for Nintendo’s Wii U.

Of these, Nyko’s director of marketing, Chris Arbogast, says, “We are incredibly excited for the Wii U launch and the plethora of new gameplay techniques the GamePad and Pro Controller bring to gamers this holiday season,” and remarks that the products will be, “A series of charging solutions designed to give gamers the convenience of multiple options to power their Wii U controllers.”

The five products from Nyko are:

The UBoost, a life-doubling battery extension,  It attaches and interacts with the existing battery, promising 10 or more hours of playtime, and uses a convenient stand for streaming on the controller.  No dock is necessary, and the UBoost will be released later this year at a price of $19.99.

The Charge Base Pro will allow users to store and charge two Wii U Pro Controllers.  The magnetic adapters will hold the controller in the correct position, and LED lights will indicate the level of charge to completion.  Collapsible, storage and travel will be easy, and the charging base is powered by an AC adapter.  This device will sell at $29.99.

Nyko’s Power Stand, for $14.99, comes in both black and white, and holds the controller while charging its battery.  Taking advantage of the contact charging points on the GamePad, it allows for easy docking to charge the unit.

The new Charge Adapter will allow gamers to charge their Wii U GamePad from anywhere with an outlet, connecting simply via an AC cable.  The cable’s extended length allows gamers to continue to use the GamePad while charging, and comes with a Velcro strap for easy storage.  The price tag on this item will be $14.99.

Finally, the Charge Link will allow players to charge their controllers with the Wii U itself by way of a powered USB port.  Like the Charge Adapter, the Charge Link has a long cable to allow for continued gaming while charging, and a Velcro strap for storage.  As well, like the previous items, the Charge Link will market for $14.99.
