New York Comic Con isn’t exactly known for its video game coverage, but that doesn’t mean big name companies like Namco and Capcom don’t join the party. We hit the floor this week to see what NYCC attendees could get their hands on early and we were not disappointed.
Resident Evil Revelations 2
Resident Evil Revelations 2 isn’t following suit from the last Resident Evil titles. It’s going back to it roots…as horrifying and infected those roots may be. The new installment takes place between Resident Evil 5 and 6. You play as Clarie Redfield and travel with Moira Burton (daughter of Berry Burton). This isn’t a full length game, but a four part story, each story costing $5.99. You can expect this to lean more survival horror than action.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Also showcased at New York Comic Con is the 3DS exclusive Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The game is still the same Monster Hunter we know and love, but with added improvements. Notably one of the greatest improvements is in online play. The online interface is much more user-friendly and reliable. Secondly, you now have fourteen character classes available. Each class has it’s pros and cons, and since you don’t actually level up your character (only craft better equipment) you can freely change classes. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will launch early 2015.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse
With this newest installment of Dragon Ball, you work towards saving the universe because you know, guys like Cell and Frieza apparently weren’t getting enough hugs when they were a kid. Dragon Ball Xenoverse is back with all the same brutal, ass kicking that we can’t get enough of. Now it’s on next-gen systems. There are noticeable improvements in mechanics and visuals. The demo is a bit limited, but it’s till worth checking out! The release date for the game has not yet been announced, but we can expect the game to hit shelves early next year.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy
If you haven’t played Phoenix Write: Ace Attorney, now may be your time. The trilogy will pack all Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Justice For All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney — Trials and Tribulations into one. In PWAA you can act out your wildest attorney dreams… you know like investigations, examining witnesses and presenting evidence. You can also expect updated visuals for the 3DS. Be sure to snag it for $29.99 on Dec. 9th.
Project Cars
You’ve probably heard about Project cars by now, but if you’ve been living under a rock then fear not. What we do know that it’s an incredibly beautiful racing simulator running off of an improved version of the Madness engine. It will ship with 67 cars and 52 tracks (not including DLC) and will also be Morpheus supported. If you’ve got a next-gen system or a PC and you can pick it up on Nov. 18.
Digimon All-star Rumble
Be ready for Digimon nostalgia. Much like the title suggests, you can expect some Digimon stars and rumbling. This is a 2-4 player fighting game that follows suit from another four player fighting game that takes an obvious inspiration from Super Smash Bros. Though this is no new concept it’s still fun. When you choose your character you can see its original card and see it evolve, but only if you’re lucky. Be sure to cop this Saturday morning cartoon giant on Nov. 11 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Make sure to check out these in more if you’re at New York Comic Con. Stay tuned for coverage all this week!
