The itablet Thumb Keyboard has been released by AHX Global. It’s a wireless bluetooth keyboard with a touchpad on the bottom. The company is touting the compatibility of the keyboard, claiming it will work with iPads, iPhones, Windows and Android tablet PCs and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Seeing as the PlayStation 3 and Wii both use Bluetooth, this keyboard could easily work with both consoles.
Francis Davis of AHX Global claims, “the Thumb Keyboard provides a fast and intuitive way to create emails, tweets, texts and documents. It is the perfect antidote to the awkward onscreen keyboards used to enter data and text into today’s mobile devices that do not have proper keyboards.”
Battery operated and ergonomically designed, the keyboard has backlit keys and measures 5.9 by 3.5 inches. The touchpad on the bottom of the device can be accurately used with either index finger.
The keyboard is currently available in US Qwerty and UK layouts and in black or white versions. Other keyboard formats will be coming in third-quarter, 2011.
Personally, I’m hoping for a Dvorak layout!
