MSI‘s sleek new Slider S20 Ultrabook will be part of the company’s showcase at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show. MSI will be unveiling the Slider S20 Ultrabook next week as part of CES 2013, and it’s a nice-looking device indeed. Weighing in at just over 2 pounds, the Slider S20 has some impressive guts, including a 16:9 1920×1080 full HD 10-point touch screen, Intel Core i5 Processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. There are also plenty of options for connectivity, including a mini HDMI-out, 720p HD webcam, Ethernet port, and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB 3.0 capabilities. That touch screen will come in handy for Microsoft’s Windows 8 user interface, and the ability to slide the screen over the keyboard turns your laptop into an instant tablet, or vice versa.
For gaming purposes, the Slider S20 features an Intel Integrated HD 4000 graphic setup, which means it will struggle to keep up with most high-profile PC games, but one usually doesn’t try to play those on a tablet anyway.
All of the fanciness comes at a price, though: the Slider S20 costs $1,199.99 and is slated to hit stores sometime this quarter… it’s a significant bump from the initial announced price of $800 in June 2012.
Either way, the Slider S20 will be available for CES 2013 attendees to play around with at the Aria Resort and Casino until January 10th.
