Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor's Lord of the Hunt DLC Out Today

For those who are itching to get back into the chaotic madness of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, today is probably the best day to do just that. With the release of the game’s first major story expansion, Lord of the Hunt, Talion and Torvin will need to team up in order to take down Sauron’s army of Beastmaster Warchiefs.

As Sauron’s elite army of Warchiefs invade Nurn, intent on destroying all wildlife within the region, Talion is tasked with joining Torvin, the Dwarven Hunter, and putting an end to these wretched beasts. Using his powers of domination, Talion will show Sauron that the wildlife of Nurn shall not be harmed.

Lord of the Hunt is said to add several hours of fresh new gameplay to Shadow of Mordor, and with thirteen new achievements/trophies added into the mix, there seems to be plenty worth experiencing here. Below, you can find a rundown of what else is expected within the latest expansion.

  • New Story & Lore – Discover more tales from Torvin, the Dwarven Hunter, as you work together to tame the beasts of Mordor and fight Sauron’s minions.
  • New Nemeses – Face off against the Beastmaster Warchiefs, powerful new Uruks who have the ability to ride monsters and engage in perilous mounted combat.
  • New Monsters – Ride into battle on the Wretched Graug to vomit toxin at your foes, stalk your enemies on the predatory Caragath and attack from the shadows or raise an all-consuming Ghul Horde.
  • New Missions & Challenges – New Beast Hunting challenges and collectibles open up new trophies and achievements.
  • New Epic Runes – Make your Mount unstoppable with five new epic Runes that make you the ultimate hunter.
  • Test of the Wild – Test your skills against the Beastmasters and mount your trophies on the leaderboard.
  • New Character Skin – Lord of the Hunt skin transforms Talion into the ultimate Beastmaster.

Shadow of Mordor Wildlife

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor‘s Lord of the Hunt story add-on is now available to download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC for $9.99.

The game’s Season Pass is also 33% off today, so act quickly and make sure to grab the pass for an even greater savings on Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor‘s additional content. Content, mind you, that includes a future second story add-on where players assume the role of Celebrimbor, the mystical elven wraith met through the game’s main narrative.
