An analyst reads hoards of information to make a solid prediction of what is to come in the future for a company or product.
Michael Pachter has done it once again, by stating that Microsoft’s new gadget “Natal” will be sold at retail for the low price of $50 dollars.
With his new segment Pach-Attack on GT, he had a chance to say this about the new hardware coming this fall;
“My guess is, talking to my hardware specialist colleagues at Wedbush, it’s about $50 in cost,” he said.
“I’d be very surprised if the thing is more than $79, and I really think it’s going to be $50. Microsoft’s not trying to make money on the device, trying to get everybody to have the device so that they can sell us other things, eventually can sell us a lot more Xbox 360s.
“My call is $50; I think that’s where it’s going to be launched.”
He already made the mistake of claiming Gearbox’s Borderlands had been “Sent to Die” before its release, well Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford had other nice things to say after the game recently reached the 3 million sold mark.
Will have to wait and see if the Wedbush Morgan analyst doesn’t have to back track again.
