Metal Gear HD Collection Details Revealed

The contents of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid HD Collection has been released by Konami.

Featuring in the collection is of course Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and also the original titles that were released back in the 80’s for the MSX, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. Rumors also state that a code for the first Metal Gear Solid may be included with the PS3 copy.

Here’s some of the specs fans can expect:

  • 1080p graphics
  • 60 frames-per-second
  • Icons, sound effects, and all fonts upgraded for HD
  • User interface reworked for HD
  • Added right analog stick input and force feedback (Peace Walker)
  • Features Trophies on PS3 and Achievements on Xbox 360
  • Worldwide matchmaking for multiplayer
  • “Transfarring” save data compatible with PSP version (Peace Walker)

The only date so far confirmed for release is the Japan date, which is set as 23rd of November, but it is expected to be out for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 everywhere else before Christmas.

PS3 will see the game released on Blu-Ray whereas the Xbox will have it on two DVD discs.

I remember playing many many many and many hours of Metal Gear Solid on the PlayStation as a little one, I have no doubt that this is going to be an incredible purchase, particularly with all the games that are included in the single collection and I am already planning for it by storing food in my bedroom for my hibernation of Christmas.
