The folks over at Kotaku have reported that “The Major” aka Xbox’s Larry Hyrb Gamer tag has been hacked.
His name, bio and location were replaced, saying instead that any account could be hacked for 100 dollars via PayPal.
The Major has since regained control over his account. Reports indicate that the website lightzz.com has claimed responsibility for the attack, who also posted a video of it. More at Kotaku
Xbox Live enforcement and policy director Stephen Toulouse tweeted earlier that he would look into the mattered further.
The Major thanked Stephen and the team for investigating, and others for the concern on twitter.
