Mafia III Will Grow with Three Expansions and Free Add-Ons

Mafia III

Mafia III is getting ready for official launch. 2K Games and Hangar 13 have presented at PAX West all there is to know about the game’s future content expansions.

Mafia III returns to The Game Fanatics and not because of another one of their luring trailers. Actually, wait, there is indeed a new gameplay trailer – but this article is not about that. 2K Games and Hangar 13 took the chance at PAX West to delve a little bit more into all sorts of extra content that are already dripping from the Mafia pipeline. If you are wondering, the Californians are following a combination between free add-ons and big expansion DLC, all of them to come on a seasonal basis. Of course, if you are expecting to develop the main story line with extra scenes and juicy content, you should be keeping an eye for the latter.

All Mafia III free add-ons will be about tuning and customizing our experience through New Bordeaux. For starters, we’ll be able to change the appearance of Lincoln and all the vehicles he uses. Keep an eye for the pack “Judge, Jury and Executioner,” which will arrive one month after release – full of weapon goodies and other lethal wonders.

Mafia III: the DLC in a Nutshell

2K Games and Hangar 13 have also confirmed the existence of three big DLCs on the road. These larger expansions will focus more on the narrative aspect of the story and will unveil new details about Lincoln’s group and fate. Beware, though, what follows are mild story spoilers (yep, even before the game’s release). So read it at your discretion.

The first one, “Faster, Baby,” brings wild car chases and asphalt acrobatics to the table. We’ll follow the steps of Lincoln as he meets with a very old friend and tries to bring down a corrupted Sheriff that has been terrorizing activists in the outskirts of the city. “Signs of the Times” is all about voodoo and creepy traditions – vicious murders included. We’ll plunge into the darkest side of the city as Lincoln tries to chase down some weird cultists, at Father James’ request. Last but not least, “Stones Unturned” will bring us to Lincoln’s past in Vietnam and some scores which need to be settled with… Tipping the scales is the presence of John Donovan who, if you have seen the past trailers, certainly has his own agenda and a special way of dealing with problems.

Mafia III

Each of these paid DLC will be sold separately or as part of the season pass, $29.99 in total ($39.97 if you buy them a la carte). If you happen to get the $79.99 deluxe edition on offer, then these expansions will come at no extra cost to you, when they finally hit the stores. Of course, details about when that will happen are still unknown.

Mafia III will arrive to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 7th. Stay tuned to the Fanatics to read everything new about this highly-awaited sequel.
