Little Big Planet 3 Bugs and Frowns

Following in the steps of another Sony-exclusive title Driveclub, Little Big Planet 3 is having multiple problems that are showering bugs on early adopters. While this might be new to the franchise, this seems like the next release in line this holiday season with crippling problems out of the gate.

The bugs found in Little Big Planet 3 seem to vary quite a bit, covering single and multi-player as well as the touted level creator. Since the title’s release Nov. 18, multiple users have reported errors along the lines of a specific hurdle that stops progress through the single-player campaign after the prologue, the creation tool becoming sluggish due to the number of screenshots on the system’s hard drive and imported DLC items not working properly.

Even when these bugs are overcome, save profiles have proven to still be at risk with some profiles being erased outright for no apparent reason and finished created levels becoming “broken” without explanation. Sumo Digital, the studio behind this entry, have only given quick fix ideas for a fraction of the reported problems, but there are updates promised to help as many of these problems as possible.

Sony finds themselves digging out from a second rocky release by themselves this holiday season with Driveclub still weighing down users with problems. The Playstation company is not alone however as Microsoft has had problems with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and even Nintendo now has Super Smash Bros. issues to deal with. This is not even to mention the third-party bugs with both Assassin’s Creed games, Far Cry 4 and Grand Theft Auto V, all lending to a widespread feeling of unavoidable problems in triple-A games.

Little Big Planet 3 is currently available on Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 consoles with the DLC, customizations for Sack Boy and created levels all transferable from the other games, and the updates to expedite this process currently TBA.
