During Microsoft’s pre-Gamescom briefing, Jurassic World Evolution was announced. The game will put the keys to the park into gamers hands, allowing them to build their own version of the theme park.
Frontier Developments is developing the game based on the island featured in the 2015 movie. The developers are not newcomers to the sim genre. The have previously dipped their toes in the water with Elite Dangerous as well as the Planet Coaster series. Taking control of the park means not only handling the basic running and maintenance but also planning security and scientific research. I mean if we have learned anything through the Jurassic Park movies, it’s that security may come into play at some point!
While the trailer is limited it does give a taste of what can be expected from the game. This should be a sim that we all can sink our teeth into; whether it is creating new attractions or taming out of control dinos.
Jurassic World Evolution will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Coincidentally the release date set during the summer of 2018 falls right in line with the June release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
