Injustice: Gods Among Us gets Zod Trailer, Man of Steel Skin

If you liked Man of Steel (it’s pretty good, trust us), then you’ll like the next bit of DLC coming to Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The latest trailer (seen below) for the DC Comics fighting game from Mortal Kombat developers Netherrealm Studios and WB Games shows off Superman in his costume from Man of Steel, as well as the debut of the long-rumored General Zod as the fourth add-on character. For those unaware, Zod has been the main villain of both Man of Steel and Superman II, and is a former Kryptonian general that led a revolt on Superman‘s home planet. He was sentenced to exile shortly before the planet blew up, and in most incarnations of the character, immediately sets his sights upon Superman‘s adopted planet.

Zod‘s inclusion in the game completely verifies a reported leak back when the game launched, that claimed to reveal the identity of every DLC character — since then, Lobo, Batgirl, Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion, and Zod have all been confirmed. There are new rumors that Martian Manhunter will join the playable cast, but those haven’t been confirmed just yet.

The content will be hitting the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in July, with Zod confirmed for July 2nd. The Man of Steel Superman skin will cost $0.99, while Zod is unlockable for $4.99 (400 MS Points). If you have the Injustice Season Pass, you get Zod for free. The game’s developers have confirmed that the Wii U edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us will be getting DLC sometime this summer, but whether that will be all of the Season Pass content, just some of it, or just character skins, remains to be seen.
