If you’re pre-ordering InFamous: Second Son for the PS4, you’ll be getting a cosmetic boost to your gameplay. The PlayStation Blog revealed that if you throw your money down for the early 2014 exclusive now, you’ll get four vests for main character Delsin to style and profile in, designed by Penny Arcade, Exist 1981, Jos, and iam8bit.
One pre-order gets all four vests, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll act as anything other than skins (meaning no power boosts or new abilities for those who pre-order as opposed to those who don’t.)
There’s also no word on whether this will apply to digital pre-orders, as Sony has started offering those for certain titles in the PlayStation Store.
To recap, InFamous: Second Son takes place about 7 years after the “good ending” of InFamous 2, with an entirely new cast. Developers Sucker Punch have even gone on record to state – very clearly – that Cole McGrath, the previous main character of the series, is 100% dead and not coming back. That being said, new protagonist Delsin‘s smoke-based powers look pretty sweet, and there are hints he’ll be able to absorb the powers of other super people as well.
