In Case You Missed It – Weekly News Roundup for August 21 – 28, 2016

In case you missed it, this is In Case You Missed It, the Game Fanatic’s very own news roundup series. What we can’t get throughout the week tends to wind up here. After all, who has the time to cover EVERY news story! We are given the tough choice to pick and choose, but ICYMI is perfect for tying up a few loose ends in our coverage. Without any further ado, let’s get into the week’s news.

In Case You Missed Fallout 4…

Bethesda released a little something to pull you back into Fallout 4. In the days before the Nuka-World DLC, Bethesda put out another humorous look at what’s in store. While the trailer doesn’t have much to it by way of information, it is pretty fun to watch! The DLC will run for $19.99 and will be available later this week.

In Case You Missed Having People Like You…

Blizzard’s got you covered. On August 26th, Blizzard updated the Battle.net launcher to include a streaming function. With it, you can stream Overwatch, Hearthstone, and other Blizzard titles quickly and easily. The catch is that the streaming is for Facebook Live. If you aren’t particularly interested in starting a Twitch channel or only want to show off to your friends, perhaps you’ll find this new application helpful. Or you could ignore it. It’s your call.

In Case You Missed Those Classic PS3 Games…

Get ready to get your nostalgia goggles on. Earlier this week, Sony and Capcom partnered up with Humble Bundle to create the Humble Capcom PlayStation Bundle. Featuring titles such as Strider and Resident Evil HD, the bundle marks the first PlayStation oriented deal. For those who don’t know, Humble Bundle gathers a bunch of games and bundles them for as low as $1. A portion of the proceeds of the Capcom PlayStation Bundle will go towards the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, the American Red Cross, and the Save the Children organization.

In Case You Missed Good Kickstarter Projects…

Gamers of the 1990s might remember a gaming classic known as System Shock. Correction: gamers of the 1990s DO remember System Shock, and they have recently pledged over $1.3 million dollars to Kickstarter for a remake of it. Time for context. A while back, Night Dive Studios managed to regain the rights to re-publish System Shock and System Shock 2. More recently, however, the publisher announced that they would remake the original System Shock using the Unity engine. They even released a demo of the remake! With the Kickstarter a complete success, we can expect to hear more about this classic game’s return.

Once again, that is all for In Case You Missed It this week! Did we miss any other major stories? Let us know in the comments below!

See you next week!
