GT 5 Does Decent December Sales Numbers

Despite being nearly a handful of years late and not having a massive ad campaign in the eyes of many, Gran Turismo 5 was able to sell 560,000 units in Canada and the US.

Of course those numbers seemed very different from the numbers at launch, which yielded 5.5 million worldwide (1.25 million in North America). But upon further look in at the NPD numbers and it’ll show that the game actually sold 1.4 million out of the 1.25 million shipped. Most of December’s numbers come off the heels of the 1.25 million shipped, so technically there are only 110K copies floating around in stores.

Developer Polyphony Digital have said that they will be supporting the game well into the year and with the Formula One season around the corner, expect some surprise from the team.

Gran Turismo 5 released last year only on the Sony PS3.
