PlayStation Loves Developers, and I can certainly share the love. During Sony’s Gamescom conference, more high-profile indie titles were confirmed for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, including the sequel to Hotline Miami. Here’s a few of the major games announced:
- Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
- The Binding of Issac: Free Birth
- Rogue Legacy
- N++
- Fez
The rest of the massive list, for both PS4 and Vita, can be found at the PS Blog, here. Personally, I’m looking forward to Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. While the first game didn’t impress me like I thought it would, the dark, unique style and fast gameplay gave it a certain charm that I haven’t found elsewhere.
The others are very interesting, such as Fez. Some deride the Vita for all its ports, but being able to experience a game like that on the go is indisputably something special. It’s also a sign that an indie market is perfect for a device such as the Vita, and that PlayStation is a welcoming avenue for developers, both those looking to publish their first project or established names looking to capture something new and inventive.
